The Parish of Holme East Waver
The Parish of Holme East Waver is largely agricultural and incorporates the village of Newton Arlosh, and the hamlets of Angerton, Moss Side, Raby and Salt Coates.
The Parish is named after the River Waver, and the rivers Waver and Wampool enter the Solway Firth at the western end of the parish.
We have a population of approximately 320 in 135 households.
The B5307 runs through the parish and Newton Arlosh has a village pub (Joiners Arms) and a church (St Johns). There is also accommodation for visitors to the village and surrounding area.
Get Involved With Your Parish Council
All meetings start at 7.30 pm and shall be held at Newton Arlosh Parish Hall
The Annual Parish Meeting starts at 7 pm and is generally held on the 1st Wednesday in May of each year unless advertised differently, where the Parish Council reports to the community.
The Parish Council meetings are open to the public. Parishioners can raise issues and discuss them in an open forum with the councilors present. The County Councillor, Borough Councillor, and the local Police are also invited to attend.
