The planning authority for this parish is Cumberland Council. Copies of all applications (and plans) submitted are sent to the Clerk which are then considered by members of the Parish Council. The Parish Council’s comments on an application are taken into consideration when the authorities make their decision. The final decision on planning matters is made by Cumberland Council, either by their Officers, if a minor matter, or by the elected Council.

  • In making their decision the Council take into consideration the following:
  • Planning policies as laid down in the Cumberland Council Local Plan
  • Other planning policies from the County and Government
  • Recommendations of the Parish Council
  • Letters of objection or support from the general public

Any elector wishing to object or support an application is welcome to look at the plans. Planning applications can be inspected at Cumberland Council in Workington and on their website
